A one day course designed to teach students to use small boat Radar to assist decision-making in navigation, pilotage and collision avoidance.
The syllabus includes a basic understanding of radar wave propagation, radar set components, target definition and discrimination, radar reflectors, types of radar display, radar plotting, use of radar as an aid to navigation, accuracy in range and bearing and general safety precautions in using equipment.
Upon successful completion, the RYA Radar course completion certificate will be issued.
